SPECIAL OLYMPICS FLORIDA FIT FEET

In 2019, as a Clinical Director for the Special Olympics, Dr. Kibria participated in the state games at Disney’s Wide World of Sports, screening over 800 healthy athletes.

Additionally, on the local level, Dr. Kibria has volunteered at several Special Olympic Fit Feet events, providing free podiatric screening for over 500 Special Olympics athletes.

The mission of Special Olympics Florida is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

In 2019, Dr. Kibria visited the Henry Davis Foundation, a local orphanage located in Conocoto, Ecuador, and provided free foot screenings to over 80 children. The orphanage is home to over 100 children, most of whom have been orphaned as a result of abandonment or abuse.

In addition, Sole Podiatry Center and Dr. Kibria, in partnership with the Lion’s Club of Quito, contributed greatly needed medical supplies to the Foundation.
